Ovum pick up also called as oocyte retrival is a procedure done under general anesthesia

In this procedure with the help of suctions and needle the already stimulated & triggered follicles are punctured and the fluid is taken out and transferred in lab .

This is the time Embryologist screen all the fluid and counts the number of oocytes obtained.

These oocytes then are fertilized either by IVF or ICSI .
